Elevate Your Mood

It’s that time of year in northern New England when the leaves have fallen, the air is cold, and the days are shorter. It’s hard to live in this area and not feel some sort of change in our mood when this time of year hits. Even if you like the winter, the loss of sunlight tends to affect many people. It’s a good idea to push yourself to do things that you enjoy. Exercise and sleep become more important this time of year. Our bodies need rest at night to rejuvenate. Getting into the habit can really boost your mood during the winter. As it becomes harder to get outside and move we can still do little things whether it be taking 10 minutes and do a short walk or maybe doing a few minutes of yoga inside. I know it can be really hard to do. But sometimes if we push ourselves even when we don’t want to just a few times a week it will help our mood.
